With D-Link DGS- 1005P 5-Port Desktop Gigabit PoE+ Switch allows you to connect devices with Power over Ethernet (PoE), such as wireless access points (APS), network video cameras and IP phones to the network. The DGS-1005P is compact and operates quietly. It's built with homes and small businesses in mind, making it ideal for most rooms and offices.
Gigabit performance
The DGS-1005P features plug-and- play installation and requires no configuration.
Automatic MDI/MDI-X support on all ports eliminates the need for crossover cables when connecting to another switch and auto-adaptation on each port intelligently adjusts port speed for compatibility with the connected device. With wire-rate filtering and store-and-forward switching, the DGS-1005P maximizes network performance while minimizing the transmission of bad network packets.
Power Over Ethernet+
DGS-1005P features four Gigabit Ethernet ports supporting IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at PoE, delivering up to 30 W on each PoE port and providing a total maximum power of 60 W.
It is possible to connect compatible devices to DGS- 1005P without using additional power supply. This allows you to save on cabling, power supplies and install devices in places without immediate access to electrical outlets.
Green technology
DGS-1005P has been designed with green technology such as IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE), link state detection and cable length detection.
EEE adjusts power consumption on the switch based on network usage, and reduces power usage during periods of inactivity. The link state detection shuts down unused ports, saving power when connected devices are powered off or disconnected. The cable length detection adjusts the output power from the port based on the cable length, reducing the power requirement of the switch.
Compact and quiet
The compact design of the DGS-1005P allows for placement in most locations, even where space is limited.
The desktop form factor of the switch provides everything you need to create a new network or expand an existing network, while the fanless design provides quiet operation even in noise-sensitive areas such as workstations and meeting rooms.< /p>
